Job Overview & Responsibilities

Machinist, Senior Level:

Individual shall be a Master Level Machinist and should have experience outlined below.


  • The experience shall include three (3) years’ experience as a tool and die maker, able to perform shop math, design and build setups, and work with close tolerances of three (3) thousandths of an inch (0.003”)or less on both manually operated machine tools and CNC machines
  • The individual shall maintain, operate, troubleshoot, and repair machining equipment, presses drills, lathes, saws, and tools
  • The individual shall be knowledgeable and have experience with laying out, marking, and measuring raw materials; reading and understanding engineering drawings, specifications, and tolerances
  • The individual shall have experience in the operation of cutting, grinding, milling, turning, surfacing, drilling, stamping, marking, pressing, and CNC machines; lubrication and cooling of work pieces and machinery; calculating and adjusting feed rates, machinery rpm, and speeds; aligning, manufacturing, installation, and securing of holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials onto machines
  • The individual shall have experience measuring tolerances with high precision micrometers and calipers; shall have experience measuring, testing, examining, and inspecting raw materials and finished parts for material defects, surface defects, specifications, and tolerances. Precision work with titanium, stainless steel, tungsten, monel, nickel/copper and various alloys is required. Experience with shipboard and/or the marine industry is desired


  • Master Level Machinist
  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience
  • Preferred experience with shipboard and/or the marine industry is desired
